Salcombe Crabfest announce 2020 sponsors and chefs

Salcombe Crabfest is delighted to announce its 2020 main sponsors will be award-winning holiday letting agency Coast & Country Cottages, famed distilling company Salcombe Gin, and leading local estate agent Marchand Petit.

With Salcombe Crabfest now just a matter of a few short months away, the much anticipated event looks set to once again take Salcombe by storm on 3rd May 2020. This year the line up of confirmed chefs coming to do free demonstrations is bigger and better than ever before.  Currently the list includes the Rick Stein Exec Chef Stephane Delourme, the Rockfish Group Head Chef Kirk Gosden, BBC1s Saturday Kitchen chefs Freddy Bird and Jane Baxter. Other returning chefs are the Oyster Shack’s Andy Richardson, Ocean’s head chef Janey Syrett and winner of the 2020 Trencherman’s Award for ‘Best Newcomer’, Jamie Rogers of Twenty Seven in Kingsbridge.  With demonstrations from these, and so many more, the chefs demo tent is not to be missed.

Other highlights on the day include a wonderful street market filled with local exhibitors, children’s activities, talks, live music… and plenty of delicious food and drink options too!

Ed Tallack, Director at Marchand Petit says ““Marchand Petit are absolutely delighted to sponsor the 2020 Crabfest. It’s truly a wonderful event and a fabulous opportunity for the town to open its doors and show off everything it has to offer. This year marks Marchand Peitit’s 30th anniversary so what better way to celebrate than by helping to raise funds for the many worthwhile causes, whilst enjoying ourselves at the same time!”

Emily Mercer, Marketing Manager at Coast & Country Cottages, adds ‘We are so excited to be once again sponsoring Salcombe Crabfest in 2020. It is such a worthwhile charity event, bringing the whole community together. We will once again be doing children’s activities on the day, so do visit us on Island Street and say hello!”

The event is completely free to attend and is entirely in aid of charity. Over the past five years, the festival has raised in excess of £40,000 for local organisations. This year, the event will be raising funds for Dementia and Alzheimer’s organisations locally.
