Celebrating Salcombe’s Fishing and Tourism – Organised by the Rotary Club of Salcombe
Now just a few short months away, Salcombe Crabfest is fast approaching and we couldn’t be more excited!
Taking place on 1st May 2022, this annual charity event is a wonderful free-to-attend family day out with amazing entertainment for all ages, superb exhibitors, and most importantly… delicious food.
This year, highlights will include the popular Chefs’ Demonstration Marquee on the Creek Car Park. Compèred by BBC Radio One’s David FitzGerald, a host of chefs will showcase their ‘crab cracking’ skills, creating a wealth of wonderful dishes featuring Salcombe’s finest commodity – its delectable brown crab.
There will also be the return of the thriving street market, featuring around 100 exhibitors, which for one day only sees Island Street and the surrounding area fully pedestrianised. Stroll amongst the stalls, picking up delicious locally made food, drink, artisan crafts, clothing and so much more…
With free children’s activities, run by Coast & Country Cottages, and live music throughout the day, there will be a fabulous atmosphere, catering for the whole family. Plus you will be able to take a taste of the festival home with you – freshly landed crabs will be available to buy in abundance.
Best of all, this action packed day out is all in aid of charity. This year, the event is supporting the very worthwhile cause, Cancer Research UK.
Salcombe Crabfest 2022 is set to be a day to remember – put the date in your diary today!
